Be Sure You Have A Passport When Crossing The USA – Canada Border

“Americans and Canadians heading to the United States from Canada on vehicles or cruise ships will face new entry requirements beginning next week, the US Homeland Security Department said.

Americans and Canadians entering the United States will have to show a passport or other identification.

Next Monday, the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative will begin requiring U.S. and Canadian land and sea travelers to present a passport or other documents denoting “identity and citizenship when entering the United States,” according to DHS.

  • U.S. and Canadian travelers to be required to present documents at border
  • Travelers must show passport or documents denoting “identity and citizenship”
  • Homeland Security says the change will “quickly and reliably identify a traveler”

Travel Insurance Does Not Cover You If You Don’t Have a Passport and Are Refused Entry to the USA

Remember, if you’re going on an Alaskan cruise or other tour or trip that passes through Canada (and back into the USA), you’ll need to have passport to return back to the USA.

I hope this helps you.
