Here is the CSA 8/13/2010 Wildfires in Russia position statement:
Due to recent high temperatures and dry climate conditions, forest fires have been ravaging parts of Russia. Ongoing fires have created hazardous levels of air pollution, as well as have caused flight delays and cancellations. CSA Travel Protection considers these fires to be a natural disaster.
Certain CSA Travel Protection plans offer coverage for some effects of a natural disaster. Customers are strongly encouraged to read their Certificate of Insurance or Insurance Policy for details regarding their available coverage.
For those plans that do offer coverage for natural disasters, please be advised that there is no coverage for this specific event under any CSA Travel Protection plans purchased on or after August 10, 2010.
Please note that August 10, 2010 is an important date: there is no coverage for this specific event under any plans purchased on or after August 10, 2010
I hope this makes sense. If not, call us at 1-888-407-3854 and we’ll help you figure it all out.
