Remembering the Apollo 11 Moon Landing

I’m a space, sci-fi and science buff. I was born in 1957, so I grew up with space exploration in the news. Plus, I had an aunt & uncle who lived in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

I remember the Apollo 11 moon mission today as if it happened yesterday. It was just a few days before my 13th birthday (July 23rd). We stayed up late to watch it on TV, too. I also cassette tape-recorded the important events (liftoff through splashdown). And, of course I have all the newspaper clippings. They’re a lot of fun to get out and look at.

Here’s the official NASA Apollo 11 40th Anniversary website, too.

If you like to follow space exploration events, you might like what I wrote a few months ago: Where Is The International Space Station?.
